Peduncle silk is naturally gray/black and comes from the Tussah family (India). It has a special woolly and warm texture. It is a member of the silk family with shorter fiber length and a softer sheen than mulberry silk.  It comes from a special Indian silkworm that spins a “handle” on the cocoon.
